Who we are

We are a small innovative team aiming to solve problems that the Ethiopian coffee value chain is facing by applying cutting edge technologies.

Basic Information

Ethiopia exports 240,000 – 300,000 tons of coffee annually to generate $1.3 – $1.4 billion. Coffee exits the country through Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) or directly through a vertical integration.

Ethiopian Commodity Exchange guarantees the quality of coffee but does not allow the farmers or the traders to sale the coffee directly.

Vertical integration allows direct trade, but the quality of the coffee delivered sometimes differ from the agreed quality.

Coffeeatlas aims to take the best of Ethiopian Commodity Exchange and Vertical Integration to build a unified platform where farmers, processors, traders, importers and authorities collaborate to produce high quality coffee and to facilitate direct trade from the farmer or the trader.

Coffee importers who users Coffeeatlas to source their coffee can verify when and where the coffee was harvested and processed, how much the farmer gets for their harvest and how the coffee is farmed and processed also by whom it is processed and graded among many other useful information about the coffee.
